We first became interested in dances from southeastern Europe in the 1980s and this led us make
numerous trips to southeastern Europe travelling throughout Romania and Bulgaria, and more recently Greece, Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia, attending many dance workshops and undertaking ethnographical research into dance, music, costume and customs in the area.
Since 1999 we have hosted the web site www.eliznik.org.uk/ which is an internationally recognised English language website covering Romanian, Bulgarian (and southeast European) dance, ethnography, music, and costume.

Iliana Bozhanova
Iliana Hristova Bozhanova was born in 1961 in Galabovo, in the Stara Zagora region of Bulgaria. She grew up in a family of musicians and singers in South Thrace. In 1981, she graduated from the National School for Art Instructors in Plovdiv. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in "Bulgarian Folk Dances and Choreography" at the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Artsin Plovdiv, the oldest folk arts academy in the Balkans and the most acclaimed in Bulgaria.

Stockton Folk Dance Camp
Every summer in Stockton, California, for more than 70 years, dance and world music enthusiasts have come together to learn and celebrate traditional dances and music from around the globe. Tineke Vangeel
In 1973 Tineke van Geel taught her first folk dance classes, a bold attempt at high school because 'she danced really well'. It was the debut that led to getting her official diploma in 1977. Years later she developed a particular interest in Armenian dances and decided to travel to Armenia to do research. To date she remains actively involved in dance research in Armenia which has made her a world renown specialist of Armenian dance.

TIFA 中華民國國際民俗舞蹈協會
本會成立於民國93年1月起至3月中旬，以「中華民國國際民俗舞蹈協會籌備會」為名，集合全國資深民俗舞蹈老師及愛好者，發起成立連署，並於93年3月17日向內政部社會司提出申請，4月28日接獲准予立案回函，93年11月21日正式成立。本會成立宗旨正如章程中明示：「以研究及推廣世界各國的民俗舞蹈，提昇對世界各國舞蹈、音樂、各國文化的認識及深入的瞭解，進而能與國際相關民俗舞蹈的團體有所交流，建立國民外交，在世界民俗舞蹈活動領域中，我們也可以有一席之地。」當然，更期望藉由國內各地同好的一齊投入與共同努力，將國際民俗舞蹈推廣至全國每一角落，提昇全民對國際民俗舞蹈的欣賞與了解，進一步參與我們的活動
